Virgin Rosemary Mojito
Ever tried replacing mint with rosemary in your Mojito? We did, and it’s quite tasty! This alcohol-free version is ready in five minutes.
Why rosemary works
Mint gives a classic mojito its cool freshness. Rosemary takes it somewhere else: piney, a little savory and very aromatic. Muddled with brown sugar and lime, it makes a drink that feels grown-up without any alcohol.
Muddle, don’t mash
Press the lime wedges, sugar and rosemary firmly a few times, just enough to dissolve the sugar and release the lime juice. There’s no need to pulverize anything: the goal is flavor, not a green paste at the bottom of your glass.
Variations
- Swap the lemonade for soda water if you like it less sweet.
- Use pear juice instead of apple juice.
- Add a splash of white rum for the classic, alcoholic version.
- Making a pitcher? The 3x button gives you 3 cocktails and every amount scales.

Virgin Rosemary Mojito
Ever tried replacing mint with rosemary in your Mojito? We did, and it’s quite tasty! No alcohol needed.
Instructions
- Cut 1 lime into wedges. Put half of the wedges in a sturdy glass with 1 tsp brown sugar and 2 rosemary sprigs, and muddle until the sugar dissolves and the lime releases its juice.
- Fill the glass with 1 glass crushed ice. Pour in 1/4 glass apple juice and top with 1/2 glass lemonade. Stir gently.
- Serve with the rest of the rosemary sprigs and lime wedges.
Clap the rosemary between your hands before you use it. It releases the aroma without bruising the leaves.
